Who is a good candidate for this course?

This program is open to Sudbury-area students (over 16 years of age) planning to attend any college or university in the coming year and who have a learning exceptionality (Learning disability, ADHD, ASD, etc.) or mental health challenge.**

It is also open to early year Cambrian College students with a disability.

How will ACT prepare students for college?

In this 8-week course a course moderator supports students through independent learning and live, interactive online activities.

Students are guided through a process to develop tools and skills matched to their learning strengths and weaknesses.

Students also learn ways in which college and university learning is different from high school learning.

By the end of the course students will have developed a personalized learning profile and transition plan.

Costs and Benefits of ACT?

There is no cost. This course is free to eligible students.

Completion of the course earns 3 GenEd credits at Cambrian College. *

These can be used in place of one of the three GenEd requirements in programs at Cambrian College

Students planning to attend any college or university may participate in ACT, however, the course credit is only available at Cambrian College.

What are the course requirements?

A computer, reliable internet access, and the ability to view and participate in videoconferencing sessions

About 5 hours of time every week for 8 weeks starting Oct. 21, 2024. The end date is Dec. 13, 2024.
