Guidelines for Diagnosis and Assessment of Learning Disabilities
September 25th, 2018
Over the past two years NOARC’s, Dr. Alana Holmes, has been part of a multi-sector province-wide working group comprised of practitioners from the medical, education and private sectors. The goal of the working group was to create a consensus definition of Learning Disabilities that would cover the lifespan of Ontarians, be supported by research, informed by clinical expertise and be useful to those who work in the field of LD assessment.
The group developed a document entitled, Guidelines for Diagnosis and Assessment of Learning Disabilities, 2018 which have been endorsed by the Ontario Psychological Association. In the coming months these Guidelines will be referenced and presented at psychological conferences around the province and you will hear about them through associations to which you may belong (e.g., ACPOSB, CPA-Education and School Psych, etc.)
The Guidelines, complete with references and FAQs, can be found here!
