An original peer-reviewed research article co-authored by NOARC’s Dr. Alana Holmes, was recently published in the Canadian Journal of Educational Administration and Policy.  In the article titled, Medically Confirmed Functional Impairment as Proof of Accommodation Need in Postsecondary Education:  Are Ontario’s Campuses the Bellwether of an Inequitable Decision-Making Paradigm?, Dr. Holmes and her colleagues at Queen’s University report on their census of the all medical training programs in Ontario to evaluate the extent to which medical professionals receive training in determining functional impairments in postsecondary students with mental health conditions.  The article concludes by addressing implications and offering recommendations for best practice.
