STOMP 2020 Continues During COVID-19 Pandemic
The Successful Transitions Online and Mentoring Program (STOMP) is continuing and adapting during the physical distancing measures put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Participating students have been completing work on the online course with the support of their teacher candidate course moderators.
We had planned to hold an in-person Closing Day workshop that is now going to occur online via videoconferencing. During this Closing Day workshop, students will have the opportunity to learn some practical college and university skills from the course moderators and complete a transition planner to help them schedule and complete some of the key things they need to do the summer before starting college or university.
STOMP is a transition program that NOARC has offered to graduating high school students with mental health challenges or learning exceptionalities in the Sudbury area since 2016. More information about STOMP is available in the Program Development and Evaluation section of our website (link: https://www.noarc-cerno.ca/research/program-development-and-evaluation/).
